Office 365 cannot receive mail, error 550 - Mailbox unavailable

Hello,


I have started using Office 365 and added a domain there (pinassi.fi). Now email cannot be sent to pinassi.fi addresses, an error message like


<ari.rosti@pinassi.fi>:

216.32.180.190 does not like recipient.

Remote host said: 550 5.4.1 Relay Access Denied Giving up on 216.32.180.190.


is replied to sender.

The domain is verified and DNS records are ok. I have tried everything I have found in troubleshooting scenarios and forums, but nothing seems to help. Now what can I do, these email addresses are business addresses to us!

iOS6 shifting birthdays one day in exchange

Just upgraded my team to iOS6 on iPhones/iPads and noticed that birthdays (stored in Personal data section of the Contacts data record in outlook) are shifted one-day later - most if not all of them.

It is not something that is just showing up on the iPhone/iPad.  The sync changes the exchange data itself.  Anyone else seeing this?  Anyone know a way to get back the data from two days ago?  Anyone know a way to correct these programmatically?

One email account...mutiple users

Prior to going to 365 the setup in our company was:


- one common email address for all employees i.e. "sales"@

- pop account for each employee but using a "sales" @ address

- Therefore all users receive a copy of any thing sent to "sales" @

- All employees reply from "sales" @

- No synchronization of "sales" inbox or sent items as pop accounts


Now to 365


- we have some users who have 2 PC's that would like synchronization of email on both machines

- I have set up each user with a paid mailbox


- I can if required set up a paid "sales" inbox



What are the options to replicating what we had before ?

i.e. :

  • all employees receiving email sent to one address: "sales"
  • all employees reply from the one email address: "sales"
  • employees only having the one email address to communicate on being "sales" and not the option for the employee to email out or receive on their personal "names" email accounts ?


One option I had was changing each employees primary email address to sales...but will this just achieve a synchronized "sales" across all employees i.e. a delete from an employees inbox deletes from all employees inbox? not what we want


Another option was to create a distribution group and give employees access to send as. But can I remove their ability to send as their own "name" email address and receive as their own "name" email address


any help appreciated










Exchange connection issues...

I cannot connect to remote.warwickbuilders.com - i tried everything, new software, updates, turn off and on, all the normal stuff, the only thing i can think of is this happened before and it had somthing to do with a change on your end...
Can you please help me, i spent 7 days without access to my mail, at william@warwickbuilders.com which was the MS exchange mail which i cannot connect in ms outlook is says must connect, then i installed office 365 and i can get my other mail to work, now, but still not william @warwickbuilders.com.
when i try to go remote to connect to my server through web address https://remote.warwickbuilders.com/ it says cannot connect.
however this same server has complete access to all the files on the hard drives and can conenct to all hard drives files on the server, which is a seperate computer connected to our home network via router and ethernet.
Is it possible to just forward all email from @warwickbuilders.com (exchange account)to another email address (from godaddy.com side who hosts my domain names) like @verizon.net so i dont have to manage 7 different emails in outlook?

FOr instance i have 2 @gmail.com, one @verizon.net, and a @nansulation.com address in addition to @warwickbuilders.com addresses.
LIke i said I am getting and have the trial version office 365 but will get the full version of office 365 plan E3 with pro desktop office, etc. if it can do all it says...like what i want. 

You guys have always been awesome i have tried to fix this and i dont want to lose my email from willaim @ warwickbuilders,com if possible - i looked for the pst file, i think i deleted it when i loaded new windows 7 64bit and wiped the hd. I dont know if there is a back up with godaddy or not or how that works, it would be nice with the software i have to be able to have on portal that i can see everything from anywhere...

 

A freind installed the exchange and server programs on my other computer, but i have no idea how to operate it, etc. all i knew is the remote.com address to portal in, and change things and i cant do that now either...

but have all emails come through one portal and managed by one master email folder list...
if you can help me do that, that would be truly awesome...

 

godaddy.com got this same message, so i figure since we can access all the files and internet and all esle works, its got to be either the me exchange software etc, or the go daddy.com address the way it handles the request?

Outlook always loading another user's account to outlook for administrator user.

I had followed a guide about 6-8 months ago in the forum on using the powershell (I think it is called) interface to give myself as an admin access to remotely attach to a user's entire account via the "Exchange / Advanced / Mailboxes / Open these additi.. " feature in Outlook on the desktop so as to assist someone with a problem they were having. 

 

I've just noticed that they user's account is still showing in my outlook, not only on my work computer which I was at when I set this up, but on my notebook and even the outlook on my new home computer when I set it to attach to my work email.

His name does NOT show up on the settings, it has no additional mailboxes to open.  I'm wondering if I may have set something in the advanced mode which is doing this and if anyone can guide me through the undoing of it.  I no longer need continual access to this person's email.

iPhone email attachments and office 365

I've got a problem that has been driving me nuts since I upgraded to the iphone 4s and decided I cannot ignore any longer.  Please note this was not a problem on the iphone 4 or 3gs I had before it (I believe due to the lower megapixel camera and smaller picture file size).

 

The iphone allows you to send up to 5 pictures attached to an email which you can decide to send as small, meduim, large or actual size.  It is the actual size that is giving me a problem.  Supposedly Office 365 allows attachments up the 25MB so file size should never be a problem since 5 pictures taken on an iphone 4s are about 11-12MB in size total (2-3MB each).  I believe there is a 10MB limit on the iphone email interface between it and office 365 somewhere (believe it is office 365 problem), because anytime I send 4-5 actual size pictures the email fails to send and sits forever in the outbox.  This is a real problem if you do not notice and delete out of your outbox on iphone, because it will try to keep sending and fail, consuming all your mobile data on your phone plan (Did that once already on a 6GB plan, which cost me and extra $100 in data overages).  My current work around is obviously to send pictures in large format which reduces email to 3MB in size or send 2-3 pictures at a time which is more a pain since I am constantly taking and sending pictures for business purposes.  Also looks bad to customers I am sending multiple emails too, when one email would do the job.  And if I use the large picture option, picture quality is not as high as they may need for zooming in, which is also a problem if I keep using these work arounds. 

 

I just tried sending an email now with 5 pictures with it (10.8MB total size) and watched it in my iphone outbox.  It returned a message saying "Cannot Send Mail - Your mailbox is full".  My mailbox is not full since I am using only 7 out of 25GB on my office 365 account so far, so it has to be something else, that this is the closest error message it.  I know it is not only my iphone, because we have 10 iphones in our office and all of them have the same problem. 

 

I decided to take it one step further.  I have a backup gmail account that I setup on my iphone and use for testing.  I emailed the same 5 pictures using that account as the send from instead of my office 365 account.  They went through without a problem which leaves me to believe it is a office 365 problem, not an iphone problem.

 

I'm sure that I am not the only one having this problem and being driven nuts by this.  Doesn't anyone know the solution?  Besides switching from office 365 to gmail.

Cannot connect desktop Outlook to Office 365

I am unable to connect my desktop Outlook 2010 to Office 365. Web based application works fine & syncs with mobile device fine but I cannot connect my desktop to Office 365.

I use mail.office365.com for my email (not outlook on my PC).  When I used to use Outlook on the PC, any email address that came in pretty much automatically went into my contacts list.  Does the web portal do that as well and if so, can I control it?  I want to stop email addresses from automatically getting into my contacts.  Thanks!



Emailing as an alias / multiple domains

Hi,

 

We have 2 domains on O365.  Ideally we'd like outlook to behave as follows:

 

1) User can choose to send manually from user@domain1.com or user@domain2.com.

2) If replying to a message addressed to say domain2.com outlook should automatically set the from as user@domain2.com

 

We're aware of the method of setting up distribution groups to handle a second domain email address and setting send as permissions but this does not meet requirement 2.  Also it doesn't let you just type in the address in the from box. You seem to have to chose it from the global address list.  Even when you have done this once you still can't chose the name from recently used addresses.

 

Any solution to this?

Email forwarding errors

 I have an email  issue that I cannot sort out.

I have two accounts, one which I like to receive all my emails.

The other account I am trying to have all the emails forwarded to the first, the primary account for me.

I can send and receive to each account with no problem but once I have the forwarding set, the emails will not forward.

Yet I do receive an error email stating that the message cannot be delivered to the address.

possible to have email address / alias without using license?

Is it possible to set up an email like "info@domain.com" that forwards to a licensed email (or several email addresses) WITHOUT using another license?  I tried setting up a group with info@domain but that appears to only work for internal purposes, as external emails to that account get bounced.  Thanks.

Missing Emails to and from two specific users

Good day,

 

It seems that email has gone missing for two specific users in one tenant. The emails that are missing are between these two users directly (no one CC or BCC on any of them) and are missing from 9/1/12, through today, 9/24/12.

 

1. Items are not in Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, Recover Deleted Items, or Online archive for either user.

2. This is all items since 9/1/12 between these two users specifically.

3. These emails were available as of Friday, 9/21.  Appear to have gone missing sometime over the weekend.

4. I have tried searching Recover Deleted Items, to no avail.

5. I have tried to search Delivery Reports - from both mail accounts, as well as the O365 EMC.  All error out: "The log search service is unavailable on server."

6. There are no rules or retention policies in our tenant, or for either user, that would move or remove items from each other.

 

Are there any other options to search for these items?  Or any reason it would only affect items between these two specific users?

Several of our users upgraded their iPhone 4S phones this weekend to iOS 6 and now their Activesync simply states 'cannot connect to server'.

Anyone else having this issue?

Exchange Online Bandwidth Requirements

Can I please be referred to documentation or a URL that discusses the bandwidth requirements for Exchange Online?  I understand that bandwidth usage will fluxuate depending on what is being accessed from the online mailbox, so some general specs on bandwidth usage will be sufficient.

NOT Receiving Incoming Messages from Single Sender

External sender has tried repeatedly to send email messages to multiple recipients at a domain hosted through Office 365.  The messages never appear in the recipients' Inboxes or Junk Mail folders; the sender never receives an NDR or any indication the message was not received.  Recipients have added the sender's domain to the "Safe Senders" list in OWA options, but it's as though they are getting filtered prior to reaching the mailbox.

 

We are using Office 365 P1, so we have no insight into what may be going on at the SPAM filter level.  I have seen several other posts about this that simply end with a MSFT agent sending a PM to the complaintant, so I have been unable to resolve this on my own.

Phone wiped??

Today I wanted to share my calendar to my girlfriends (android) phone. Her calendar was shared through Gmail with mine, no problems at all.

On my own Android phone I've an Exchange account. I tried to config that account on a second phone, to share my calendar. While I was configurating that account, an email was sent about wiping the phone was started...? I didn't see that email because I was using that second phone. After a spontanious reset I had to enter a password (tried sometimes, it was an old password, don't know where it comes from), and after logging in the phone was factory reset and formatted...? You can imagine that my girlfriend wasn't happy at all.

What's happened and how I can prevend my collegues to do the same?

Unable to import .pst file to Outlook because file is too large

I am in the process of migrating exchange mailboxes to Office 365 and all is going well except for ONE user who's mailbox was 1.96 gb in size.  (My mistake in not noticing beforehand).   Prior to migrating, I made a back up copy of the .pst file and then deleted the user profile as directed when I had to manually configure Outlook for Exchange. Unfortunately, I'm not able to import this pst file into this Outlook account and am unable to sync old mail to Office 365.   Is there a work around?  Any way I can decrease the size of this file and try again?   Help?
