I have just recently been transitioned to Office 365 from BPOS. The problem I am having since the transition is that my email enabled SharePoint lists are no longer receiving emails.
Here is my current configuration:
- Office 365 for Exchange and Lync
- On-premises SharePoint 2010 server
- Internal Exchange 2007 server (still available for use)
- Domain: domain.com
- SharePoint Email Domain: spmail.domain.com
What I've tried to do is point my external SMTP server in SharePoint to our new Office 365 SMTP server. In DNS, I previously had an MX record of spmail.domain.com point to owa.domain.com. I now set the MX record to point to the new SMTP server. After doing this, I received error messages saying to many hops, may be in a loop.
Assistance with this would be greatly appreciated. Also, if needed, I can continue to use our internal Exchange server. Just need to know what changes I would have to make.
