Connect Outlook clients to 365 with their OLD PST's? (instead of having to upload from scratch?)

Hey everyone!

So, I am about to do my first ever Exchange 2003 to Exchange Online 365 migration!

I have about 20 users which I am moving from our onsite exchange 2003 server, to the Online Exchange 365.

Most users mailboxes are about 8 - 12 GB in size.

What is the quickest way to do this with as little downtime (and synchronizing / uploading / downloading / updating) time on the clients end?

I ask this, because most of the clients are using laptops across sea's right now... and I DON'T trust that they will actually have the time to leave their laptops plugged into an internet connection for HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS while their Outlook uploads (or downloads) their PST's.

So, what I had in mind is........: Uploading their mailboxes etc to 365, and HOPEFULLY just change the mail settings on their laptops to point to the new 365 server (as opposed to the current on-site exchange server).... therefore, keep using their existing locally saved PST on their laptops, and NOT having to download / upload ALL of their emails from scratch.

Would this work?

If not, is there any other ways that could be used to do this quickly?

Also, is there a maximum mailbox size that the "Email Migration Tool" on my 365 admin page allows?

Also, what tool / program should I use to do the migration? (PLEASE keep in mind that I am NEW to this!)

Thanks!!

Shawn.
