3rd Party To Send Emails On Behalf Of

I have a customer that has a form on their website that sends them an email when someone requests information.  The website is hosted by another company and when I checked the email headers of a previous email it showed that it came from their SMTP server.

The email they had in before we wrong (I recently migrated them to 0365 away from POP3) so I had them put in a working one, but the email still didn't come through.

If that email is originating from their email server as user@mydomain.com and going to user2@mydomain.com don't they have to setup some sort of relay on their end in order for it to know where to send it?  The guy says they have nothing in place and they don't have any on staff who would know.  Or do I just need to edit the SPF record to show their mail server as valid?

I was going to hit up the Forefront group to see if they could even see the email trying to hit the Microsoft servers.
