Hi, I have been reading through the forums and I'm sorry if this is a repeat question.
Our company recently made the transition to an Exchange Online environment and most employees are now using OWA to access their mail. However, as previous posters to this forum have mentioned, unlike Outlook the only way a user is even aware that they have received a new email is if their browser is open. Outlook handles notifications via a balloon in the system tray.
The previous answers to this issue posed by other members of the forum have been to investigate other clients such as Windows Live (note, Windows Live also does NOT have system tray notifications).
What I want to know, as I do assist with IT issues, is Microsoft planning to implement better notifications in OWA for future releases? Ideally, notifications that appear if the browser is minimized? Ideally, in the system tray as most users of Outlook are accustomed? Also, are there official version numbers for OWA? I can find no version numbers in the OWA client (e.g. in the About page) which makes it difficult to assess this and other issues.
Also, is this webpage (http://community.office365.com/en-us/wikis/office_365_service_updates/974.aspx#oct) the best place to see updates (again, without a changelog with a version?)
Thanks.
