Outlook 2011 for Mac SP2 14.2.3, OS versions 10.5.8 - 10.7.4

This week we had 3 accounts where this problem occured at exactly the same time. Emails were also not getting in.

OWA worked but erratically.

In 2011 client I was able to delete my account, add another user's account and that worked fine. So the application, computer and internet connection were all OK.

It took 20 hours for the problem to rectify itself, and when it did all 3 accounts were functioning again. MS tech support reported no server side errors and the ticket was closed but unexplained. [Ticket no.: (the SR number is removed by moderator)]

The initial problem took place over Tues/Wed, but subsequently I had another user with the same issue yesterday but just for 2 hours and today and I another user with the same issue, again for 2 hours and at the same time of the day.

I'm concerned that this will be a recurring issue and if it remains unexplained/unrecognised, I will have to endure this anomoly indefinitely.

Any help would be appreciated.
