Some time on 2/12/13 the exchange service via PC outlook 2010 on various users behind our Watchguard firewall stopped working. Our firewall does deep packet inspection of the SSL traffic. Prior to this the hosted exchange service had no issues with the deep package inspection. My firewall guy thinks Microsoft changed something in the handling of the SSL traffic. We input a bypass in the firewall for ALL IPs related to the office 365 outlook servers and the exchange service resumed normal function without any other changes. I called the tech support for office 365 but they were not aware of any changes to handling of SSL traffic.
