I just learned that my sent items older than ~30 days are gone.
Somehow, I was under the impression that all sent items are retained in the sent items-folder indefinitely (or till the 25 GB storage space has been exceeded), similar to Gmail.
Given that I've used this account since May 2011, I should probably have been familiar to this "clean up"-feature, but I only discovered it now when I needed to find a few old e-mails. This is a big disappointment as I thought I'd be safe using O365's e-mail as a archive for all e-mail activity. Obviously, since I did not know that this is how O365 behaves, I have not enabled the Archive feature either.
My question is therefore: Is it possible to get hold of all my old, sent items - or are they gone forever?
