deleted mailbox on-premise exch 2003 during stage migration

Hi,

We are working on the stage migration and after we've migrated one of the user, deleted his mailbox on-premise exchange 2003 server. As MX record still points out the on-premise exchange server this user can send email but can't get any email...


I'm thinking to create smtp forwarding rule, but I'm also curios how can I see the forwarding rule on exchange 2003 for other migrated users?

can not get external email and website working at same time

We recently launched our public facing website, hosted by Network Solutions. As soon as it went up, we could no longer receive external emails. Went to Network solutions and put in the correct DNS and MX records...emails started working, but website crashed???

ADFS Single Sign On Disaster Recovery Question

Greetings,


I am contemplating setting up an onsite ADFS server so we can use single sign on for our Exchange Online email access.  If our ADFS server and site are destroyed in a fire, can remote users still authenticate to check email?  I have been told no and yes and can't find any conclusive answers.  I would assume no, since their would be no authentication mechanism in place.  Any thoughts?

E-Mail Not Received

I am using an e-mail address  @btconnect.com hosted by Office365 (all btconnect e-mail is hosted by Office365).

Some, not all, e-mails sent from an address @btconnect.com and e-mails sent from an address @lazybeescripts.co.uk are not reaching my Office365 account.

I am not getting "bounceback" messages.  I assume (but do not know) that the e-mails in question have been filtered out by spam "prefiltering" (that is to say rather than being routed to the account's junk mail folder, they never reach the account).  How can I stop this?  I am failing to receive vital mail.

iPhone keeps asking for password

Hi there.


My boss has an iPhone with a 365 account configured on it. For some reason it keeps asking for password, if he selects cancel it works. He wants this to stop happening so any help would be appreciated.

Moved emails do not leave inbox

Why is it that emails which are moved to folders do not leave inbox?  This is very frustrating.

Error when delegating access to distribution list

We want all our users to grant access to their calendar to some part of the organization.
Therefore, we try to setup delegate access in combination with distribution lists, like this:

Open Outlook and log on to the mailbox for which you need to grant delegate access.
Choose Tools | Options and click the Delegates tab.
Click Add, select the distribution list, click Add, and then click OK

Then we get the following error:
De gebruiker ... kan niet worden toegevoegd
Aan niet lokale gebruikers worden geen machtigingen verleend voor deze server

Which translates to:
The user ... can't be added
Non-local users will not be granted permissions for this server

Any help appreciated.

Outlook desktop will not connect without PC restart

I am having trouble getting Outlook desktop (2010) to connect to Exchange Server when I start up Outlook. The only way to overcome this is to restart the PC. All my other connections (cell 'phone, Notebook 2nd PC are sync'ing ok and receiving push email). I assume that it is a local Outlook setup/installation issue, but can't see what. I have de-installed and re-installed Office 2010 but it is still happening. Any thoughts?

Journaling Stop Working Following Service Update

We use the journaling feature in Exchange Online to archive our in/out email through a third-party service provider.  Following the date of our service update, our third-party service provider is no longer receiving our messages .  I checked with the provider and they have reviewed all of their settings and confirmed that they are not rejecting any messages.  I have also deleted the existing journaling rule and reestablished, but no luck.  We are receiving NDRs for each email as shown below.  Are there settings that need to be reestablished for journaling following the service update?

New e-mails, no content (iPhone shows content, Outlook not)

Hi Folks,

 

A client of had been moved from P1 to Exchange Online online over this weekend.

 

One of the users is usinf Outlook 2007 on Windows 7. Since monday, Outlook 2007 from several users was stuck on checking on new e-mail (Send/Reveive button). We fixed this by not using Cahe-modus for Outlook 2007....

 

But this one user is now facing trouble:

 

- he is reveiving new e-mail, but none of the new e-mail shows the content (text) send tho him. He just sees new e-mail messages, but when he opens a new message, he doesn;t see text/contect. While he opens the new e-mail in OWA or iPhone, he is able to see the contect (what actually has been send to him).

 

What could be the problem with is Outlook 2007?

We have a practice, when an employee leaves, of deleting their mailbox, then adding that former employee's email address to someone else's mailbox, usually a supervisor.  I've just discovered that when I do that, someone sending from the "inside"--that is, from our same O365 domain--to that address, will get a bounce with:

 

The e-mail address you entered couldn't be found. Please check the recipient's e-mail address and try to resend the message. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk.

 

Guess who the helpdesk is?

E3 Archive gives 100GB, but Outlook 2010 .OST only 50GB max. How?

We have a "catch all" mailbox shared@company.com that everyone accesses for incoming emails that do not address any particular person. It is an E3 account with "100GB + unlimted storage if requested" as advertised on O365.

 

Recently our Outlook 2010 stopped loading at the splash screen and I checked that the OST for this mailbox is 49######## KB (deleted it before I write this post), which looks like it has reached its max limit and outlook fails to open without error message.

 

Since Microsoft Outlook does not seem to support the O365 offering, what is the recommended practice for using O365 for archive and access? I know I can increase the limit by editing outlook registry, but how much more can I do that?

Using Delay Delivery Feature

I am trying to use the "Delay Delivery" feature to send an email later in the day as described here. When in "cached" mode, the delay message will only be sent if my client computer is on and Outlook is running. If cache is disabled, it works fine (user can turn off system and Exchange server delivers message) Unfortunately, cached mode is a requirement. How do I get this to work in cached mode?

Adding Gmail account to connected accounts

I am having an issue connecting a gmail account through OWA. The auto setup process does not work. The manual imap setup says not supported. The manual POP method says that either the username or password is wrong. I am sure of the account details as I can login to the account through mail.google.com. I am using the email address as the username

 

I have also checked that IMAP and POP are enabled for the account.

 

It is a gmail.com address.

Default MRM Retention Policy

Hi,

 

If I was to go into Exchange Control Panel and go to Retention Policy and click details on the default mrm is it possible to just remove a Retention Tag from that window?

 

I see the option to remove what i want to know is if I remove "Default 2 year move to archive" tag will this prevent mail being archived after 2 years?

 

I hope this is enough information, just I know some customers will not want their mail archived.

New customer with BCM, will this work with office365?

Hi,


I havea customer with office 2007 and BCM (Business contact manager) 2007.  He's now using different PST files with a pop account.


I 'm planning to switch him to office365 next week, can i do this and keep his local BCM functionality?  Any specials things I have to look out for?


I will need to import his pst data but keeps his added bcm data consistent

Out Of Office Not Working

Hi,


As other posts in the forum: I have one user that turns on the Out Of Office assistant however automatic emails are sent to internal or external users that email this user. 


We are an hybrid environment, with Exchange 2010 SP1. The user with issues is on the cloud (however, other users in the cloud work fine).


He is not forwarding his emails to anybody. Get-Mailbox 'affected mailbox name' | Get-MailboxAutoReplyConfiguration looks correct for the user. 


Not sure how to troubleshoot. Please advise.
